I will never forget my life changing trip to Kenya. It is something I will always remember and cant wait to plan my next adventure again. I got to meet my sponsored child and her family and made memories that i will always treasure.

I had the privilege of going to Kenya with the NASIO trust and spending 10 days doing volunteering work. On the face of it, it seems as though I was the one giving to the Musanda community, but this is not true. Whilst I may have given materialistic things such as a house we built, I was the one receiving so many things. The love that we were welcomed with from the minute we stepped off the plane was utterly overwhelming – I have never felt more at home halfway across the globe. The lessons that I was taught over the 10 days are some that I will never forget and am eternally grateful to have been taught. The positivity and gratitude that the children and families have in abundance – despite their extremely difficult situations – is incredible, and has completely changed my outlook on life. The kindness and generosity they show to each other has made me determined to change the way I interact with others. These are just a few of the lessons that I’ve learnt, and I will forever be grateful to the NASIO trust for allowing me to experience them. It was truly the best, most fulfilling 10 days of my life and as soon as we landed in England I began planning my fundraising for coming back next year!
